Innovation Meetings - Trieste
Life Sciences Matching and Demo Day
The second edition of the Innovation Meeting, organized by the PROMOS partners in collaboration with the Italian network PerfeTTO and the Austria Business Agency, was set to bring an exciting international event to Trieste for innovators in Life Sciences.
This international event, dedicated to Life Sciences and Biomedical Technology, took place on February 4–5, 2026, at the Urban Centre in Trieste, hosted by the FVG Cluster for Life Sciences. The two-day gathering aimed to further solidify Trieste’s emerging role as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and investment in the sector, while also fostering synergies between the Italian and Austrian innovation ecosystems.
Bringing together stakeholders from industry, academia, and the investment community, the event featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and structured bilateral meetings, offering extensive opportunities for knowledge exchange and partnership development.
A key highlights this year was the presentation of successful innovation models from neighboring regions and countries. These case studies demonstrated how early investor involvement, strong technology transfer mechanisms, and clear thematic focus can accelerate growth in Life Sciences.
Building on the success of the first event organised by Health Hub Tyrol and StartUp Tirol in Innsbruck in June 2025, the matchmaking sessions again took centre stage. These one-on-one meetings were seen as one of the most effective ways to foster cross-border partnerships and drive future innovation.
Stage of results from PROMOS Innovation Camp - Bolzano

Following the preparation of the pitches during the Innovation Camp in Bolzano, 4 participants went to the Innovation Meeting to present their idea. The aim of the camp was to prepare all of them to have a successful pitch in front of bigger audiences.
In addition, one participant from the Innovation Camp in Klagenfurt also pitched in Trieste.
Those results are part of the PROMOS concept, of supporting PhD students and Early-Career Researcher to develop their soft skill outside academia.
