“Taking part in the Innovation Camp in Bolzano was an extremely valuable and inspiring experience for me. I come from a research-driven background, where for many years I focused almost exclusively on the scientific aspects of my project, without really considering how it could be communicated or developed beyond the laboratory. The Innovation Camp helped me step out of this perspective and look at my idea in a more objective and complete way, introducing key concepts such as value proposition, market potential, and intellectual property.
What truly made the experience valuable was its hands-on approach: not just theory, but a structured “learning by doing” process, where the bigger picture was built step by step through practical exercises applied directly to my project. This method helped me truly internalize the concepts and develop a more open, multidisciplinary mindset, also thanks to the interaction with experts from different fields. It is an experience that gave me new tools and perspectives, and that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn how to turn a scientific idea into something more.” –Federica
“The PROMOS Innovation Camp was a great opportunity for me to learn how scientific inventions can be developed into real business ideas. Meeting a start-up and seeing how research translates into a business environment was especially inspiring. I gained valuable tools for further developing my own scientific ideas and for pitching them effectively.” –Laura
“During the Innovation Camp, I had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of key aspects of translational research, broadening my perspective on how a scientific project can evolve toward a concrete application. I learned to evaluate a project not only from an experimental standpoint, but also in terms of clinical need, feasibility, and development pathway.
A central element of the experience was understanding the importance of structuring and communicating ideas in a simple, clear, and effective way. I also became familiar with concepts such as market analysis (TAM, SAM, SOM), knowledge transfer strategies, and intellectual property rights.
Overall, I consider this experience to be highly educational, as it helped me integrate basic research with a translational perspective, strengthening my awareness of the path required for scientific innovation to achieve real clinical impact.” – Camilla
“The Innovation Camp in Bolzano gave me a chance to see Science from a different perspective, Business. It was initially very challenging to relate Biology and entrepreneurship but slowly I got to comprehend it and my confidence has improved. One of the key takeaways is that I can use the same pitching approaches when presenting proposals before prospective donors. I learned about startups and the hard work that goes into them. The camp was hands-on, and the trainers and experts were available to guide at every step of the way.”- Gloria
“The Innovation Camp held in Bolzano was a unique experience for my professional development. The research carried out in our laboratory has produced, and continues to produce, an increasing number of ideas and discoveries over the years with strong potential for patenting and commercialization. The Innovation Camp provided me with the necessary tools to carefully assess which ideas are truly worth protecting through patents and which ones can realistically attract investors.
The collaborative and relaxed atmosphere within the campus also allowed me to openly work on my limitations regarding pitching ideas in front of potential investors. The presence of industry experts and the unique environment of the NOI Techpark made this campus an exceptionally high-level training experience that I would recommend to anyone working in the field of biomedicine.” –Andrea
